Amy Robinson holds a PhD from the Department of History at Stanford University. Her
research and teaching experience focus on the social and cultural history of imperialism and
globalization. She holds a bachelor's degree in social history magna cum laude from Princeton
University; a master's degree in history and anthropology, with distinction, from University
College in London; and a master's degree in the history of modern Britain and the British Empire
from Stanford University. She also studied oral history theory and methodology at the European
Union's Erasmus Institute for New Methods in History.
While at Stanford, Ms. Robinson coordinated and facilitated a faculty/graduate student workshop
on comparative imperialism for the Stanford Humanities Center. She is the recipient of an
Andrew W. Mellon Foundation grant, and the Stanford Institute for International Studies' O'Bie
Shultz Research/Travel grant.
Amy has contributed writing and research on international
peace issues to Global Exchange, an NGO based in San Francisco. She co-founded a peace and justice committee while a member of the Unitarian Universalist
Church of Palo Alto, and is currently a member of the Buddhist Peace Fellowship. This is her first documentary
film project.
